While the top Bollywood celebrities such as Tamannaah Bhatia, Janhvi Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif brought their impeccable sense of fashion to the runway, American model Ashley Graham’s ethnic outfit grabbed all the attention as she donned an Indian saree for the first time. Recently, Ashley shared a BTS clip from her visit to Mumbai for the inauguration event.
The clip begins with the model heading to get decked up for the event. Brimming with joy, she looks all enthusiastic to wear a saree. It proceeds to show stylists putting their best foot forward while contributing their bit to deck up the international beauty. As the model looks like a goddess in the captivating traditional look, she leaves everyone stunned with her mesmerising walk on the runway. She can also be seen giving selfies to her fans and striking poses for photoshoots. In the end, Ashley flaunts her devi avatar as she grooves like a happy child.
On Wednesday, Ashley also hopped on the viral trend as she dropped a video lip-syncing to ‘looking just like a wow’. Sharing the video on the viral trend, she wrote, “"@ranveersingh told me to do it!!! In India… just looking like a wow."
Meanwhile, Ashley also shared her experience of visiting Mumbai and donning a saree for the fisrt time. Sharing of bunch of pictures dressed in an ivory-coloured handwoven Banarasi brocade sari by SWADESH with a matching full-sleeved blouse and an oversized puffed-sleeve cape, she wrote, “I’m honoured to have been included in the opening of gorgeous new @jioworldplaza plaza in Mumbai, India — while donning my very first saree!!!”
She added, “Brocade sarees are seen as symbols of luxury because of how labour-intensive the weaving process is, and how it reflects the weavers’ artistry and commitment to their craft. I cannot get over how stunning mine is.”
Ashley Graham concluded her note by extending her heartfelt wishes to the Ambani family and said that she will cherish the memories forever.
