WATCH: Actress Gauahar Khan appeals to be able to vote with an Aadhar card, faces brutal trolling amid Lok Sabha Elections 2024

For the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, most of the Hindi film fraternity stepped out to vote and one of them was actress Gauahar Khan. The actress shared a video on her Instagram story and was looking angry and disappointed as she was unable to cast her vote due to some issues initially.

This is what she had to say in the video- “I have an appeal. Why do we have Aadhar cards if we are not considered citizens enough to vote? Your Aadhaar card is your identity that you are an Indian citizen and you should be able to vote with that.”

The actress added, “People who have left the building are still on that list. I have seen it myself. And if I, my mom, my husband, everyone is registered on that building…. none of us are there. So how does one vote? We go with our Aadhar card, Id proof and they say, ‘No you cannot vote.’”

Netizens troll Gauahar Khan

One of them wrote, “She wanted to vote with an Adhar card at a different polling booth where her name is not registered… Next what? I was denied boarding the flight with a train ticket at Vadodara Bus stop?" Another one commented, “She can vote with her Aadhar card provided her name is on the electoral file. Did she not check?"
