Was Shahid Kapoor at Priyanka Chopra's house when the IT raided her apartment? Actress once said: 'Yes because...'

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were close friends and did two films together- Kaminey and Teri Meri Kahaani. During the promotions of 7 Khoon Maaf, at a press conference back in 2011, the actress was asked about Shahid’s presence at her residence during the IT raids. She gave a composed reply to the journalist.

She was quoted saying, “Mujhe lagta hai jis newspaper ne iske baare mai likha tha woh raid walon ke saath mere aaye the. Waise toh hum is baare mai has rahe hai par yeh bahut cheap baat hai. Log bhool jaate hai, mai ek ladki hoon aur kisi ki beti aur behen bhi. Haan Shahid wahan tha kyunki who meri ghar se 3 min ki duri par rehte hai, meri mummy nhi thi aur papa dusre ghar par the. Mai is baat ko manane se kabhi mna nhi karti.” (I feel the newspaper that wrote about it came along with the IT officials. Even though we are laughing about it, this is something downright cheap. In an interview with Firtspost,  Priyanka Chopra  mentioned that when she started her career, there were just ornamental roles that were offered to actresses and they were asked to be happy with it. Women actors were treated like side-kicks. They were told to be happy to be visible in just five scenes and five to six songs in films. Well, that’s how Bollywood functioned those days. So, she realised if female actors don’t get what they deserve in life, they will have to demand it.
