 "War 2 box office: Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer emerges the biggest Bollywood opener of 2025, beating Chhaava, thanks to its Telugu version")
After a long wait and anticipation, Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani starrer War 2 has finally released today at the box office. Amid high expectations, the pan-India biggie garnered mixed-to-negative reviews. However, it has managed to emerge as the biggest Bollywood opener of the year by beating Vicky Kaushal-Jr NTR starrer Chhaava (Rs 33.10 crore) by a huge margin with the help of its Telugu dubbed version.
As per early reports, War 2 has earned around Rs 29.50 crore in its Hindi (original) version, approximately Rs 23 crore in its Telugu version and close to Rs 30 lakhs in its Tamil version. The opening day collections of War 2 stand around Rs 53.10 crore.
Considering the mixed word of mouth and working day, the first day of business looks up to the mark. However, with the national holiday of Independence Day followed by Janmashtami and Sunday, the movie should cross the Rs 200 crore mark in its extended opening weekend, as it boasts big names and is mounted on a huge scale.

While the film had no business in the Tamil market due to Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan starrer _Coolie_ , the Hindi version of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial also received a decent response in the northern part of the country.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Wake Up Sid and Brahmastra: Part 1 Shiva fame, War 2 is bankrolled by Aditya Chopra under the banner of YRF. It is the sixth film from the Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3.
