Netflix’s Sector 36 film is not for the weak hearts. The film makes you visit the horrific Nithari killings’ case. We have already written about the case and Surinder Koli who was accused of cannibalism. Here is all you need to know about the co-accused Moninder Singh Pandher.

Who is Moninder Singh Pandher; Co-accused in the sensational Nithari killings' case?

Remember the Nithari’s ‘House of Horrors’. If the smell and taste of human blood gives you a high, this movie is a must watch. The plot of the Netflix original movie, Sector 36, is based on the Nithari Killings case in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, which shook the soul of the nation in 2006. The Hindu report stated, “Nithari Killings is nothing short of a betrayal of public trust.”

Inspired from true story and touching upon the present day situation, the scam behind organ trading, selling of unclaimed dead bodies and how it works, the film has shown every bit of it in detail.

Who is Moninder Singh Pandher?

Moninder Singh Pandher was a history graduate from St Stephen’s College, Delhi. He was the co-accused in the Nithari killings' case . But for many he was the main person behind Nithari Killings case in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. All the murders and rapes of Moninder Singh Pandher young children and women were happening in his luxurious Noida house.  Though, Surinder Koli, his servant from Uttarakhand Almora who moved to Delhi in search of a better life was accused of cannibalism, rape and murder was sentenced for life imprisonment. But Moninder Singh Pandher who was a pedophile was set free. Being the prime accused as per reports he was released from prison in 2023 due to lack of evidence and he and his servant had wiped away all the evidences. While his domestic help, Surendra Koli, is still in jail serving a life sentence for his involvement in the 2006 case. He now lives in Chandigarh.

Why was Moninder Singh Pandher set free?

According to reports, in its acquittal order, the Allahabad High Court had noted that the prosecution had failed to prove guilt “beyond reasonable doubt” and that the investigation was “botched up”.

He is the owner of the D-5 bungalow in Noida’s Sector 31 where 16 children were raped, murdered and mutilated. A wealthy businessman who lead a life of luxury and had inherited a successful transport business. His wife continued to live in Chandigarh while he was in Delhi. In the absence of his wife he and his domestic help used to rape young girls and children.

According to the India Today report which states, “The two were charged with rape and murder and sentenced to death in the killings in Nithari, Noida, which horrified the nation with details of sexual assault, brutal murder and hints of possible cannibalism.”
