Priyanka Chopra, the ‘Desi Girl’ of Bollywood and global icon, is making a roaring comeback in the Indian cinema with maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in prominent roles. While the title reveal was nothing short of extraordinary, PeeCee has hit the ball out of the park by emerging as the highest paid Indian actress, surpassing Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt.

As per reports, the actress has demanded Rs 30 crore for her portrayal of Mandakini.

Yesterday, the actress took to Instagram and shared a video featuring some BTS moments from the grand Varanasi event. In the clip, she is rehearsing Telugu and later admitted that “it’s more difficult to speak Telugu in front of a live audience than in a movie”

Producer of the film, KL Narayan, praised the Dil Dhadakne Do actress and said, “Priyanka Chopra, being an Indian actress, she went to Hollywood, she got fame, and she changed the dimensions of the Indian film industry. She did all this with her talent and hard work. Thank you, Priyanka, for accepting to be our heroine of this film.”

Varanasi is SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s most ambitious world-building venture yet. Fans have been waiting for years to see these two come together, and the excitement is at its peak.
