TV actor Ashish Dixit on why he didn't enter Bigg Boss 17: 'Didn't pay much attention'

Bigg Boss 17 has created a significant buzz among viewers ever since it premiered on television. While the contestants on the show are leaving no stone unturned to entertain the masses, the controversies around a few of them have kept the fans hooked to the show. Television actor Ashish Dixit was also expected to enter as a contestant in the Salman Khan hosted reality show. Recently, the actor spilled beans on the reasons behind the same in an interview. Ashish Dixit is popular for his appearance in various TV shows including Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein 2 in a lead role. As per a report by The Times of India, Ashish’s unknown circumstances did not let him enter the show. The actor disclosed, “I was finalised by the makers as a contestant but due to some reason I couldn’t make it to the show this year. However, let’s see what is explored next. I was approached for many fiction shows but as I was in talks with Bigg Boss I didn’t pay much attention to them. But soon I will return on screen with some powerful role to entertain my audience.” Speaking about the contestants in the show, the actor expressed his contentment that fate laid out that path for him which does not lead to the Bigg Boss house. He said, “Looking at the contestant list in the house I’m quite happy that I didn’t enter this year. The casting didn’t look interesting to me. But I’m enjoying watching Ankita and supporting her.” Reflecting on the recent fight that broke out between Ankita Lokhande and other YouTubers on the show, Ashish said that she was right as “we, actors have worked really hard to make the small screen so popular that everyone is looking for the opportunity to be on TV”. He added, “I respect YouTubers and influencers for their hard work and craft but can’t allow them to make us look down.” Bigg Boss 17 is telecast on Colors TV at 10 pm from Monday to Friday. Viewers can watch the show at 9 pm on weekends. The roster of contestants includes individuals including Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Aishwarya Sharma, Neil Bhat, Munawar Faruqui, Abhishek Kumar, Isha Malviya, and many others.
