Actress Triptii Dimri, who showed her acting mettle in Qala and Bulbbul, garnered nationwide popularity for her portrayal in Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal. Fans showered praise on her and called Triptii, the new ‘National Crush’.

However, her intimate scenes with Ranbir raised several eyebrows. We had to have a long discussion on why that scene was crucial,” said the actress to Vogue India.

But she knows that her parents are proud of her. Recalling one of the incidents, she revealed her father called her on stage during a colony event to address the audience right after the release of Laila Majnu. “He just wanted to show off, but I went blank. That’s how afraid I was. It’s taken a lot of time for me to get used to being in the public eye,” said the actress.

Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Triptii had earlier said, “My parents got a little taken aback. (They said) ‘We have never seen something like this in films and you have done it.’ It took them time to get over that scene. They were very sweet to me though. They were like, ‘You shouldn’t have done that but it’s okay. As parents, we will obviously feel this.’”

“I told them I am not doing anything wrong. It’s my job and as long as I am comfortable and safe, I don’t see any problem in that. I am an actor and I have to be 100 per cent honest with the character that I play and I did that,” she added.
