Back in 2022, Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth learnt something about his health which was making him feel wary of his future. The Thor star underwent standard tests, which revealed he is at an increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s. In his interview with Vanity Fair, Chris revealed that it was in an episode of the series when Chris was told about the “warning”. While commenting on the same, the actor said that what he discovered was “my biggest fear.”
During his interaction with the magazine, the Hollywood star said that he had two copies of the gene APOE4, which had been linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease by some studies. While detailing about the discovery of his health condition, the _Thor_ star emphasised that this finding doesn’t mean that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and neither does it mean that he will definitely develop the condition. However, the discovery still remains a cause for concern.
Actor’s father diagnosed with Alzheimer’s too
This is a revelation that the actor has made in the new documentary A Road Trip To Remember, and there couldn’t have been a better name than this for a man whose memory is fading and moving towards oblivion. And the documentary also talks about what is known as the reminiscence therapy.
What is reminiscence therapy?
As shown in Chris Hemsworth’s documentary, Reminiscence therapy is an intervention technique used with people who have a memory disorder, by asking about their life history. For example, if an older person sees an old photo or a vintage car, then they may be asked if they remember when the photo was taken, or if they knew anyone who had a car like that.
