'I'll die if...': Vivek Agnihotri's strong response on casting Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, who earned accolades for his 2022 film The Kashmir Files, recently released The Vaccine War starring Nana Patekar. Recently, he opened up on casting Kangana Rananut and Alia Bhatt in his films. Responding strongly to a suggestion, Vivek Agnihotri said ‘he would die if he thinks like this’. The filmmaker, however, praised both Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt highlighting that both the actress received the National Award. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Agnihotri was asked if he can get Alia and Kangana to do a film together. To this, he said, “I will die if I start thinking like this. Who thinks like this? And how can someone think like this? Alia Bhatt won the National Award, she is an actor of India. She was honoured by the Government of India. Even I got a National Award that time. When Kangana won the National Award, I congratulated her too.” Speaking highly of Alia, Vivek Agnihotri recalled the time he met her during an award ceremony. “I love the way she came and met me,” he said. The director further noted that he has nothing to do with personal lives of others. He added, “I bring two people together? What do I have to do with their lives? I don’t have any such hobbies. I don’t have any emotional connection towards anyone. I am the most detached person.” About _The Vaccine War_ Vivek Agnihotri-helmed The Vaccine War was released in theatres on 28 September. Other than Nana Patekar, the film stars Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen in pivotal roles. The Vaccine War brings back the memory of pandemic times and emphasises on how the country as well as the scientists fought against the COVID-19 virus. According to Sacnilk, The Vaccine War minted Rs 85 lakhs on the opening day while its four-day collection stands at Rs 5.75 crores. Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut’s professional lineup Alia Bhatt has many projects in her kitty including Vasan Bala’s Jigra. Kangana, on the other hand, will be seen next in Tejas.
