Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to go off-air? Producer Asit Kumarr Modi opens up on Dayaben's return

One of the longest-running sitcoms on Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been running for more than a decade now and fans totally love it. While the show revolves around the famous Gokuldham Society and its residents, the epic characters including the lead couple Jethalal and Dayaben aka Dilip Joshi and Disha Vakani are fan favourites. Following Dayaben's exit from the show, fans have been eagerly waiting for her return for several years now. One of the recent episodes also teased fans about the actress’ return to the show, however, makers ended up leaving everyone disappointed and angry. Fans who were quite convinced about Dayaben’s return to the show were left fuming and lashed out at producer Asit Kumarr Modi. Apart from backlashes and angry reactions on social media, this also led to ‘Boycott TMKOC’ trending on social media with fans accusing Asit Modi of making false promises. Amid this, a rumour also started making rounds that the show might go off-air after the constant slamming by fans. Clearing the air over it, the producer has finally shared his views, explaining that the show is not going off-air. Asit Modi speaks on TMKOC facing backlash  According to the latest media reports, the show’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi said, “I’m here to entertain my audience and I will never lie to my viewers. Due to certain circumstances, we are unable to bring Daya’s character back on time. But, that does not mean that the character is not going to enter the show at all! Whether it is Disha Vakani or someone else, the time will tell.” Further noting that the show is going nowhere, the producer made a promise to fans that Daya will be back soon. “It is not an easy task to run a comedy show for fifteen years. It is one of a kind, which has not witnessed a single leap,” he concluded. While makers are yet to confirm Daya’s return to TMKOC, the producer’s latest statement just brings hope to the audience. Talking about the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is produced by Asit Kumarr Modi and recently also completed 15 years.
