Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Dayaben aka Disha Vakani may not come back; fans threaten to boycott the show

One of the most popular sitcoms, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been winning hearts for more than a decade now. Known for giving some of the iconic characters like Jethalal, Dayaben, Champak Chacha, and Popatlal among others, the show revolves around the famous Gokuldham Society and its residents. However, now it has been over five years since one of the most popular characters, Dayaben aka Disha Vakani left the show. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for her comeback for years now. The show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi had been also making multiple hints about her return to the show, however, all in vain. Following a similar pattern, the makers yet again teased audiences about Dayaben’s return to the show, however, leaving them disappointed once again as the actress is not back yet. The makers’ failure to bring Dayaben back to the show has led to a wave of anguish among fans. While many are demanding to boycott the show, some also asked makers to take the show off-air. Dayaben is not back on TMKOC in one of the recent episodes, it is shown that the entire society including Jethalal was eagerly waiting for Dayaben’s arrival after her brother Sunderlal promised them. However, to everyone’s disappointment, she did not come back. From Jethalal being heartbroken to Tappu vowing to never talk to his Sundar mama, the episode brought tears even to the audience’s eyes as many were anticipating her return. However, as soon as the episode was aired, avid fans took to social media platforms and shared their disappointment. While many slammed producer Asit Kumar Modi. some also called out to boycott the show, stating that they would never watch the show again.

For the unversed, Disha Vakani had left the show six years back due to her pregnancy and has not returned since then. While the actress made small appearances in a few of the episodes, she is yet to make a full-fledged return. Apart from her, many other actors have also the show in the last few years including Monika Bhadoriya (Bawri), Shailesh Lodha (Taarak Mehta), Neha Mehta (Anjali Mehta), Priya Ahuja Rajda (Ritu Reporter), and Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal (Roshan), among others.
