The ratings of popular family drama Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah have dropped ever since the exit of Disha Vakani's character Daya Ben. Funny moments between characters Jetha Lal and Daya Ben have always been a treat for fans, and also one of the prime reasons why they are still loyal to this comedy show. Vakani, who was on maternity break from the daily series, was supposed to return in July this year. However, as per India Today report, Vakani might quit the show altogether.
The same report states that her husband thinks that the child needs more time and attention. And if she joins the show, she will not be able to give that much time to the kid. Neither the actress nor the producers have made any official announcements yet. The producer of the show had earlier spoken to The Times of India about Disha's return. "The shooting conditions are tough and since Disha's baby is still very young she needs her. We haven't discussed about her return yet and there is no official confirmation on Disha quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah," he had said.
Disha delivered her baby girl in November 2017 and was expected to resume the shoot after a few months. However, in July 2018, the makers hinted that she was not ready to return to the show since she wanted to take care of her growing daughter. In September 2018, a comeback sequence featuring Vakani was shot, which incidentally got leaked too.
With reports claiming about her final exit, chances of her return to the show are bleak.
