Stranger Things Season 2 trailer: Netflix ups its game; characters return in a more sinister setting

The trailer of the second season of _Stranger Things_, the immensely popular, science fiction-horror Netflix series, Stranger Things was unveiled at Comic-Con. It only goes on to prove that the directors, actors, editors - everyone associated with this show is gifted. The acting brilliance of Dustin, Mike, Will, Lucas and Eleven, more 1980s nostalgia and Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ binding it all together - everything about the trailer is perfect. Image from Twitter.[/caption] The new installment will debut on 27 October, according to The Hollywood Reporter, just right in time to make your Halloween even more thrilling. The first season of the show revolved around the sudden disappearance of Will (played by Noah Schnapp) and his mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) and police chief Hopper’s (David Harbour) diligent efforts in bringing him back. Will is held in captivity in the Upside Down, an alternate dimension that has been discovered by the scientists of Hawkins Laboratory. Although, season one did not show much of Will’s character, the boy will be more fleshed out in the second season. He will come face to face with the Upside Down again, by the looks of the trailer. This does not come as a surprise, since at his family’s Christmas dinner in the finale of season one, he threw up a slug-like creature in the bathroom. Therefore, he is not the same person anymore. He has brought with a him a part of the Upside Down and however much chilling it might sound, it begins to kick in the second season, with him getting transported to the other world all of a sudden only to be shaken out of it by Mike. Another thing that we need to appreciate about the trailer is the inclusion of Michael Jackson’s 1982 smashing hit ‘Thriller’. The editor needs to be given an award just for creating this gem of an experience and enhancing it with the perfect score. Watch the trailer here, if you haven’t already:
