SS Rajamouli has teamed up with Mahesh Babu for a new project, tentatively titled SSMB29. Ever since its announcement, the project has fans hooked to it as they anticipate magic created on screen with two impeccable talents coming together for a new film. As they await information regarding the film’s official title and storyline, the director of the film, SS Rajamouli, shared some exciting details about the project.
SS Rajamouli, recently, was in Japan for a special screening of RRR . The actor, during his appearance at the event, shared that the writing for SSMB29 is completed and the film is in the pre-production process. In a video shared by Gulte.com, the RRR director can be seen interacting with the audience as he said, “We started my next film. We completed the writing and we are in the pre-production process. But we haven’t finished the casting yet. Only hero is locked, his name is Mahesh Babu. He is a very good actor. Many of you know him. He is very handsome. Hopefully, we finish the film a little bit fast and during the release I will bring him here.”
As reported by News 18, Mahesh Babu starrer is said to draw inspiration from the Indiana Jones franchise. Additionally, speculations are also rife that Mahesh Babu will showcase a six-pack physique in the movie as his character will possess traits similar to Lord Hanuman. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are reportedly in talks for the film. However, the makers have yet to confirm the name of the lead actress in the film.
Meanwhile, reports also suggest that Mahesh Babu, who often charges between Rs 60 to Rs 80 crore per film, is allegedly not charging a fee. Instead, he might get a profit-sharing deal. As per multiple sources, “Mahesh Babu hasn’t taken any remuneration for this movie. Instead, both he and Rajamouli might share in the film’s profits, which could potentially be more lucrative.”
Writer Vijayendra Prasad, who has been tasked with the story writing of the film, revealed in an interview that the film may also have Hollywood actors coming on board for an action-adventure set in Africa.
