Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was taken into custody by the then NCB-zonal officer Sameer Wankhede back in 2021 in connection with the Cordelia drugs bust case. Khan was later granted bail. Wankhede was accused of money laundering and a case had been filed against him by the Enforcement Directorate, as per a report by Hindustan Times.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has now informed the Bombay High Court they would complete the probe in three months amid the bribery allegations.
When Wankhede received death threats
According to an official, Wankhede received a death threat over phone last year. The IRS officer was posted in Chennai. Following the threat call, Sameer Wankhede dropped an email to Mumbai police commissioner as well as the Goregaon police station informing them about the matter. Soon, a case was lodged at Goregaon police station, under the limits of which his permanent residence falls. The official further added that an investigation was underway.

Aryan Khan and the alleged drug case
On the other hand, Aryan Khan was given a clean chit along with five others among the 14 accused in the alleged drug case. The NCB’s move came in favour of the star kid due to ‘lack of sufficient evidence’. Aryan Khan was arrested on 3 October, 2021 and was released on bail by the Bombay High Court at the end of the month.
In a recent interview with NEWJ, Sameer was asked if he felt targeted by the media after arresting the superstar’s son. He responded saying, “I won’t say I was targeted but will say that I have been the most fortunate person because I got a lot of love from people from the middle class, those who aren’t that fortunate.”
