SRK beats SRK: Jawan trumps Pathaan to emerge as the fastest film to enter the Rs 400 crore club at the box office

The megastar of the entertainment industry, Shah Rukh Khan is currently competing with himself at the box office. After delivering an all-time Bollywood grosser with Pathaan (Rs 543.05 crore) earlier this year, the Dunki actor is now shattering records with Jawan at the ticket windows. The massy actioner has entered the Rs 400 crore club in just 11 days and emerged as the fastest film to achieve this feat beating Pathaan (12 days), Gadar 2 (12 days), Baahubali 2 - Hindi (15 days) and KGF 2 - Hindi (23 days). The Hindi version of the film collected around Rs 36 crore yesterday and currently stands with a grand total of Rs 432 crore. It will cross the Rs 450 crore mark today and emerge as the fourth-highest-grosser beating KGF 2 Hindi (Rs 434.70 crore) after Pathaan, Gadar 2 (Rs 519 crore) and Baahubali 2 (Rs 510.99 crore).

Talking at the success press meet of the movie, SRK said, “Jawan is a feeling which every Indian has. Jawan is an emotion. Jawan is an Indian soldier, an Indian mother, an Indian girl, and an Indian vigilante. You have to understand that Jawan, many times, is very weak, because it’s all of us, and, many times, he’s ready for a fight. Jawan is many times wrong but very many times he’s also right. Jawan will sometimes live in the darkness. Sometimes, Jawan will be the one who will be emanating the light. Finally, every Indian is Jawan who is upright.” Apart from SRK, the film also stars Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Sunil Grover and his gang of six girls, played by actors Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Aaliyah Qureishi.
