The over-one-minute long clip focuses on building up the ruthless landscape of beehad or ravines of Chambal. The baaghis or rebels are seen terrorising the region, with blazing guns and emboldened hearts.

The poster shows a jaded gang of people, comprising Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranveer Shorey, wearily sitting on barren ground, with rifles strapped to their backs.

Set in the 1970s, Sonchiriya revolves around dacoits of Chambal valley. The second poster seems to underscore the dry, mountainous terrains of Chambal, unlike the first poster that showed a group of men armed for combat. With the release of Paan Singh Tomar release nearly six years ago, Sonchiriya could usher in the forgotten genre of dacoit drama in Bollywood.

In the film, Rajput will be seen in the role of a dreaded dacoit who roams the Chambal ravines with his pack. The film also marks the first collaboration between Rajput and Pednekar.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, who has been at the helm of films like Udta Punjab, Dedh Ishqiya and Ishqiya, and presented by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP movies, Sonchiriya has locked an 8 February, 2019 release date.
