statement
to DNA, and said, “I’m extremely happy to be part of a film, which is so close to the world around us. I will get to step into the shoes of a small-town girl, and face the hilarious, madcap challenges thrown at her. It’s full of flavour, fun and emotions. I am looking forward to this journey.” The same report states that the movie, which will feature an ensemble cast, will see Sonakshi play a Punjabi girl from Hoshiyarpur trying to balance her love for her family with her own dreams. The film will be helmed by debutante director Shilpi Dasgupta from a script written by Gautam Mehra. It will also star Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in pivotal roles. It is slated to release on 2 August, four months after Kalank.
