Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty announced on her Instagram story that the iconic restaurant Bastian located in Bandra, is shutting down. The one in Dadar, called Bastian At The Top, will continue to function.
The actress’ post comes in the wake of allegations of Rs 60 crore fraud by a businessman, who accused her and her businessman husband Raj Kundra.
Shilpa wrote in her post- “This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai’s most iconic destinations – BASTIAN BANDRA. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city’s nightlife now takes its final bow.”
She added, “To honour this legendary space, we’re curating a very special evening for our closest patrons – a night filled with nostalgia, energy, and magic, celebrating everything Bastian has stood for one last time.”
“While we say goodbye to BASTIAN BANDRA, our Thursday night ritual Arcane Affair will continue next week at BASTIAN AT THE TOP, carrying forward the legacy in a brand-new chapter with brand new experience,” added Shetty.
Couple denies fraud charges
Their advocate Prashant Patil said, “My clients have been informed by certain segment of electronic and print media that there is an alleged case registered against my clients at the Economic offence wing , Mumbai . At the outset , my clients deny all the allegations against my clients which are purely civil in nature and have been adjudicated by the NCLT Mumbai on 04/10/2024.”
He added, “This is an old transaction , wherein the company went in to financial distress and eventually got entangled in a long legal battle at the NCLT. There is no criminality involved, and our auditors have submitted all the necessary supporting documents from time to time, as requested by the EOW, including detailed cash flow statements.”
The statement continued, “The company has already received a liquidation order, which has also been placed before the police department . The concerned Charter accounts have visited the police station for last one year for more than 15 times with all the evidence supporting the claims of my clients .
This is nothing but a baseless and malicious case aimed at maligning our clients, and appropriate action is being initiated from our side against the perpetrators.”
