Shefali Shah on husband Vipul Shah's film 'The Kerala Story': 'Shared the trailer and got badly trolled'

Vipul Shah, Sudipto Sen, and Adah Sharma’s film The Kerala Story that released earlier this year emerged as a huge blockbuster with over Rs 250 crore at the box-office. And in an interaction with The Indian Express recently, Shah’s wife and actress Shefali Shah spoke about if she would’ve done the film or not, and the hate she received after she shared the trailer on her social media.

Shefali said, “I don’t have anything to do with politics. I normally get a lot of love and respect on social media. I shared the trailer of it ( The Kerala Story), I cannot tell you how badly I got trolled for it. Like people hated me overnight.”

On if she would’ve done the film

She said, “If I was offered it with evidence, why not? It is as important to be told as Delhi Crime is. But if there was no evidence and if it was imaginary, I would be very wary of it. But I know for a fact that there was, I have read the script, I have gone through all those statements that have come from the government, so why not?”

She added, “And I would have played it even if it was a Hindu woman. According to me, it was about a woman, it was not about a religion, it was about terrorists.”

Vipul Shah’s next

After the stupendous success of The Kerala Story, filmmaker Vipul Shah announced his next project titled Bastar: The Naxal Story. Starring Adah Sharma the film once again deals with a sensitive subject that is gripping and important at the same time.

In the recent past reports of Vipul Shah getting threats started doing the rounds. Sources reveal that Vipul’s security has now been upgraded. After the success of The Kerala Story, Vipul who is the producer and director of the film started getting threats that comprised his well-being. As a result, his personal security has been re-aligned keeping in mind the new challenges.
