Shaktimaan fame Mukesh Khanna didn’t have favourable things to say about comedian Kapil Sharma in a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan. Khanna was quoted saying, “I don’t know what his problem was, but he never contacted me.”
The actor added, “It could be ego and shame. I know this because people have spoken about it extensively…”
On refusing to appear on Kapil’s show
My explanation was that I had seen a promo, not even the whole episode, where Arun Govil was there, and Kapil Sharma is asking them a question, a funny one, isko pakad ke maine bohot sunaya.
The question was, ‘Arun ji, you are taking a bath, and the crowd screamed, dekho dekho dekho, Ram bhi VIP underwear pehenta hai (look, even Lord Ram is wearing VIP brand underwear). Arun Govil just smiled and sat there. If I were there, main chadh jaata (I would lose it). You are asking this question to a person who has such a large image. Usko aisa ghatiya sawaal puchte ho (you ask him such a shoddy question)?”
When Veteran TV and Bollywood actor Mukesh Khanna disapproved of Ranveer Singh’s casting as Shaktimaan in the feature film version, his remark received mixed reactions from the audience.
However, Khanna then revealed that he made it clear to Ranveer that he doesn’t possess the qualities to portray Shaktimaan.
Khanna also revealed that his aversion began after the nude photoshoot of Ranveer Singh . “That photoshoot was the start of my aversion towards him. However, Ranveer told me he didn’t actually do it. He said he was wearing underwear and had fired his promotional team. I believed him, but later, when I looked back, I remembered his statement to the media, where he said he was comfortable with it. I recall giving a statement, ‘You may be comfortable, but we aren’t,’” said the Mahabharat actor.
