During a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Samir Soni, who played the role of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini’s son in the family drama, shared his experience of working with the two legendary actors. Talking about Big B, Samir Soni told Bollywood Hungama Amitabh Bachchan used to share anecdotes from his films like Sholay with the cast in between the shots. He added that he felt the Piku actor is like his father. When Samir Soni was hesitant to hug Hema Malini Samir Soni further revealed that when he first saw Hema Malini, he was in total awe of the actress. He added that the first scene they did together was the one where he visited his mother after a long gap and asked for her permission to hug her. According to Samir Soni, during the first rehearsal, he tentatively hugged Big B but was hesitant to hug Hema Malini. He said, “I asked Hema ji, ‘If you don’t mind, instinctively I feel I should hug you as well as you are playing my mother. Made on a budget of around Rs 10 crore, the movie managed to mint more than Rs 40 crore at the global box office.
