Amid death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Salman Khan’s old interview on his involvement in the Blackbuck poaching case is going on social media. While the superstar was acquitted after a lengthy trial, Bishnoi’s vendetta against Khan continued to pose a danger.
In 2008, Salman Khan spoke about his involvement in the Blackbuck poaching case and said he wasn’t the one who shot the animal. In an interview with India Today, when asked about the incident, the actor took a long pause and said, “It’s a long story there, and I wasn’t the one who shot the Blackbuck.” When the journalist asked why he didn’t take the name of the culprit, Salman replied, “There’s no point.”

Recently, veteran writer and actor’s father Salim Khan defended his son and said that Salman had not killed the animal and he was not even present during the poaching incident.
“Aur woh mujhse jhooth nahi bolega. Usko nahi hain shaukh jaanwar maarne ka. Jaanwaro se mohabbat karta hai woh. (He won’t lie to me. Salman doesn’t have a liking of hunting animals. He loves them),” said Salim.
He went on to add, “Maafi maangna ye accept karna hai ki maine maara hai. Salman ne kabhi kisi jaanwar ko nahi maara. Humne kabhi kisi coackroach ko bhi nahi maara. Hum inn cheezo mein believe hee nahi karte (Apologising would mean admitting to it. Salman never killed any animal. We have never even killed a cockroach. We do not believe in these things).”
“Salman kissey jaake maafi maangey? Aapne kitne logo se maafi mangi hai, kitne jaanwaro ki aapne jaan bachai hai? (Who should Salman apologise to? How many people have you apologised to, how many animals’ lives have you saved?),” asserted the writer.
Defending Salman’s innocence, Salim added, “Koi gunaah kiya hai? Aapne dekha hai? Aapko malum hai, jaanch padtaal ki hai? Humne toh kabhi bandook bhi use nahi ki (What crime has he committed? Have you seen him? Have you investigated the matter? We have never even used a gun).”
