Marvel Cinematic Universe has had some historic success at the global box-office, but off late, they have had a tepid run. Amid this, reports say Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson may come back as ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Black Widow’ amid failing movies. The original Avengers cast can still pull in the crowd and set the cash registers ringing. What next for Marvel ? The Hollywood Reporter states that one of the first steps taken by the studio is to drop the idea of not creating pilot episodes and hiring showrunners. An insider told the portal they believed in the idea of post production to do most of the heavy lifting, creating the notion that the director doesn’t matter. They now plan to create pilot episodes and hire showrunners that can write these episodes for them. Statement from Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation

I’ll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience. But I’m also very precious with it. It’s something that I am very proud of. And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing.
