Tennis star Radhika Yadav was brutally murdered by her own father Deepak Yadav at their residence when the man opened five bullet shots that led to her death. There are many theories and reasons that have surfaced on the internet about what compelled him to take this drastic step.

It has been reported he was being taunted and mocked for living off his daughter’s earnings and social media popularity. There’s another angle to the case; the tennis star’s rumoured proximity to her music video’s co-star Inam Ul Haq.

Richa Chadha condemns the murder

The actress tweeted- “There is no honour in killing your own child. If a few wagging tongues said stuff to him earlier, now the whole world will remember Deepak Yadav as a loser, forever. Deepak Yadav, you have cemented your place as a LOSER and a COWARD in the annals of history.”

Inam Ul Haq breaks silence

In an interview, Haq was quoted saying, “Radhika was just a co-star. I was only shooting a video with her — it was a jewellery shoot for a company. She came with her mother, and we had no personal connection; she was a stranger to me.”

Police officials on the father’s statement

“He has offered limited information. Probably, he is in a state of shock or remorse…,” said an official without being named.

He also told police that he suspected that “people were talking about him living on his daughter’s earnings”, which made him feel “humiliated”, police said.

Sandeep Kumar, public relations officer of Gurugram police, also said in a statement- “He admitted during questioning that he planned the murder.” He added, “He typically bought himself milk in the mornings, but on Thursday, he asked his son to go instead. Once alone with Radhika, he pumped four bullets into her while she was cooking breakfast.”
