A lot has been spoken about the first look of Nitesh Tiwari and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana first look ever since it dropped on April 2. Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ actor Sunil Lahri, who essayed the role of Lord Lakshman in the iconic show, has also given his take.

In an interview with DNA, Lahri both praised and criticized Kapoor as Lord Ram and was quoted saying, “Ranbir looks ok, but the innocence is a little less. The patience, calm, and innocence Arun (Govil) had are missing here. But I’m sure he’ll justify the role with his acting.”

Speaking about   stepping into the role of Lord Rama, Ranbir Kapoor  described the character as deeply relevant even today, calling him the “conscience keeper of billions.”

“Lord Ram has been the conscience keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries. He enlightens us about the triumph of human spirit. He stands for compassion, for courage, for righteousness and forgiveness, and is called Maryada Purushottam, which stands for an ideal man.”
