'Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun had rice and vegetable curry, and was treated as a special prisoner,' say police officials about his time in jail; what is the big deal about it?

Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun held a press conference on Saturday after he was released from jail on an interim bail. He was arrested on Friday in connection with the death of a woman named Revathi at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during a screening of his movie.

At the press conference, the  Icon star  said, “We’re extremely sorry for the family and I will personally be there to support them in whatever way possible. It was purely accidental. I was inside a cinema theatre watching a film with my family and an accident happened outside. It’s purely of no direct connection to me. It’s purely accidental, purely unintentional. My love and sympathies are genuinely there with the family and I will be there to support them in whatever way possible."

Arjun was released from Hyderabad’s Chanchalguda Central prison on Saturday morning. Talking to PTI, the Telangana police offiicals revealed, “He was quite normal and did not appear depressed. Normally, the dinner time is 5:30 pm. However, late admissions are also served food. He had rice and vegetable curry, and was treated as a special prisoner as ordered by the court.”

The statement added, “Only in exceptional cases, the release time is extended by up to 9 pm. Arjun was brought at 6:30 pm yesterday and released at 6:20 am today. The Jailer should be present to complete the formalities for an inmate’s release. The interim bail order physical copy arrived from the court only at 11.30 PM.”

Revealing the reason, which caused the stampede, the police said, “In specific cases where a heavy crowd is expected or some popular personality is visiting, the organizer personally visits the police station / ACP / DCP office and briefs about the program depending upon which we provide the bandobust. In this case, the organizer did not meet any officer and simply submitted the letter in the inward section. No details were made available to the police despite this we arranged suitable bandobust for crowd management outside the theatre. The crowd was well in control till the actor arrived.".

But what is the big deal about eating rice and vegetable curry for dinner? Isn’t that what most Indians eat? A lot of people on social media have said the reason why the actor was bailed out on the same day was because many Indians are poor and justice in this country is absolutely not snail-paced. Anyway, the film is all set to be an all time blockbuster.
