Pritam takes year-and-a-half long break post release of SRK, Anushka starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal
Pritam declares an official break from Bollywood for a year and a half. He has recently given music for Raabta, Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos and Jab Harry Met Sejal this year.

With films like Tubelight, Raabta, Begum Jaan, Rangoon, Jagga Jasoos and much recently Jab Harry Met Sejal bombing at the box-office, the year has been pretty dismal.
On the musical front however, this year has been quite a hit with a range of melodies topping the charts. A major share of this musical success lies with Bollywood composer Pritam who had four back-to-back releases — Raabta, Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos and Jab Harry Met Sejal.
It seems, this load of films has taken a toll on Pritam and now he wants some time of his own. The composer posted on Twitter about taking a year-and-a-half break. He said:

Most of his numbers this year have done pretty well, with JHMS songs ruling the charts currently. Anurag Basu's Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos had around 25+ songs in the film, owing to the film's genre being a musical. Pritam has also done the background score for the film.
He was recently embroiled in a controversy when he pulled out of the Sushant Singh Rajput-Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta over some disagreements over the film's musical score.
He had posted on Facebook explaining, "I had decided a while back to only do solo composer albums and not have an outside song in my album. In Raabta, producers want to recreate an existing song from the music label as part of promotions so I have decided to not continue with the film and requested the producers to take out my name from the film credits and promotions."
However the film's music was later composed by his own music company named Jam 8.
