Prabhudeva's ex-wife Ramlath breaks silence on their divorce after 14 years: 'I would be angry with him if...'

Prabhudeva and his ex-wife Ramlath parted ways 14 years ago with a messy divorce in 2011. While the duo never spoke about their split in public, Ramlath has spoken about their divorce for the first time.

Talking to Tamil YouTube channel Aval Vikatan, Ramlath spoke about son Rishi Raghavendra Deva’s debut stage performance, where he shared the stage with dad Prabhudeva. Calling it a proud moment, Ramlath called Prabhudeva a great dad who shares a great bond with their children.

“His children are his life. He is very attached to both of them. The father-son trio talk to each other irrespective of the situation,” said Ramlath. Praising Prabhudeva, his ex-wife said that the filmmaker-choreographer-actor shares the same sense of responsibility for his kids and makes them his priority. “We take every decision mutually, when it comes to our children,” Ramlath added.

Talking about their divorce, Ramlath shared, “I would be angry with him if he had said anything bad about me after we broke up, but he never did. I would not say anything bad about someone like that.”

Prabhudeva and Ramlath’s married life was affected after the former fell in love with Nayanthara and started a live-in relationship with the actress. In fact, it is said that she even quit films for her love. However, the duo parted ways, and the actress tied the knot with director Vignesh Shivan.

“I was in a phase where I believed that I have to compromise if I want love in my life. I was too vulnerable and young," said  Nayanthara  while talking to The Hollywood Reporter.

“It also contributes to the fact that we have seen so many different relationships in our industry. I am not calling it bad or anything, but it is the way we have seen the industry functioning for a very long time, like second marriages. So at that time, I thought it was okay. The girl in me genuinely thought that if you need love in your life, you need to compromise somewhere. You need to give it your all. If your partner doesn’t like you doing something, you should just sacrifice. This was my understanding of love at that point in time," she added.
