Popular television show CID to now also stream on Netflix

CID fans, rejoice! One of India’s most loved and longest running crime series, CID, will now also stream on Netflix. You can watch the first 18 episodes of Season 2 starting 21 February and new episodes every Saturday and Sunday 10 PM from 22 February. (CID will continue to air on TV on Sony Entertainment and stream on Sony LIV).

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

This famous dialogue from the record-breaking crime television series CID had been on everyone’s mind recently given the rumours of the creative decision to kill the historic character of ACP Pradyuman as a result of another television cliché, heart attack.

However, this was not the first time that the protagonist or an extremely popular character of a successful show would be killed onscreen by the creative team. There have been several such cases in the past, some of which that evoked widespread outrage among the fans, prompting the producers to whip writers ordering them to tweak the script in some instances in order to accommodate the return of those much-loved characters.

Although a pilot episode was aired in 1997, CID officially debuted on 21 January 1998, and completed 18 years on air earlier this year. Created by BP Singh, who also writes the show on occasions, CID’s retinue of writers include Rajat Aroraa and Shriram Raghavan besides Christabelle D’souza, Virendra Shahney, Nitika Kanwar, Naila Chogle, and Prabal Baruah to name a few. The long-standing show has captured the fancy of millions of viewers and some of them have dedicatedly followed the show through its nearly two-decade-long run.
