Paulina is a German actress who found her way to New York City. She has emerged as a compelling voice in the world of performance and storytelling. Her journey, marked by passion, emotional resonance, and a commitment to addressing profound themes.
A Transformative Start
Paulina’s breakthrough came with her role in The Loss, a heart-wrenching film based on the real-life story of Mia Neri, a young girl facing brain cancer.
Paulina was cast as Maggie, a character wrestling with grief and identity. “Maggie taught me to embrace vulnerability as an actor,” Paulina reflects. “The role was emotionally demanding but profoundly rewarding.”
The film premiered at the Parco Della Musica in Rome, where Paulina’s raw and honest portrayal earned critical acclaim. The experience solidified her place as an actor capable of delivering deeply moving performances.
Bringing Urgent Themes to Life
Following her cinematic success, Paulina returned to the stage in Jim Moss’s thought-provoking play, Shooting Zombies. Premiering at the Open Hydrant Theatre in New York, the play explores the devastating aftermath of gun violence.
Paulina’s role as a teacher grappling with personal and communal trauma brought an authenticity that resonated with audiences. “The play is an unflinching look at a harsh reality,” she says. “It’s a privilege to be part of a production that sparks conversation and inspires change.”
Shooting Zombies tackles an intense subject in America — guns and children. The play follows when a parent-teacher-principal meeting is called to discuss a 10-year-old boy’s behaviour after he pretends to shoot a classmate with his finger during recess. Paulina portrays Pam, the teacher involved in the discussion. But everything may not be as it seems as the adults clash over politics, school policies, and a child’s imagination.
Written by Jim Morse and directed by Luis Reyes Cardenas, Shooting Zombies premiered in December as part of the Winter Short Play Festival at the Open Hydrant Theater Company at The Point CDC in the Bronx.
Edinburgh Fringe Festival Experience
Paulina also had the incredible opportunity to be part of the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She was there with the Broadway production company Alchemation. And further honed her craft and embraced the global stage.
Writing the Next Chapter
Paulina’s passion for storytelling extends beyond acting. Currently, she is writing her first full-length screenplay, a project that allows her to explore her creativity in new ways. “Writing is like discovering uncharted territories within myself,” she shares. “It’s a challenging but fulfilling process.”
Her work aims to amplify unheard voices, tackle societal taboos, and shed light on the human experience. Inspired by cinematic legends like Federico Fellini and Michelangelo Antonioni, Paulina strives to blend timeless artistry with contemporary relevance.
A Vision for the Future
Whether portraying complex characters or crafting compelling scripts, Paulina is committed to storytelling that leaves a lasting impact.
As she navigates her career, Paulina remains steadfast in her mission to use art as a tool for empathy and understanding. With each project, she proves that storytelling is not just her passion but also her purpose.
