The 97th edition of The Academy Awards aka Oscars has just concluded and while it left all Anora fans happy, netizens have slammed the award ceremony for snubbing the Gone Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg during the ‘In Memoriam’ segment along with late stars Tony Todd, Shannen Doherty, and Olivia Hussey.
Michelle Trachtenberg, who died last Wednesday, was found in her New York apartment “unconscious and unresponsive,” according to an NYPD statement. She was 39. “Michelle Trachtenberg deserved her flowers!!! #Oscars that’s so sad,” an X user wrote.
“NO michelle trachtenberg??? NO Shannen Doherty ??? NO Tony Todd???? I’m SICK #Oscars2025,” another user commented. “Oh f**k yall for not including Michelle Trachtenberg. so disrespectful #Oscars,” wrote anoter netizen.

“Somehow, I’m really not surprised. Still, it shows how this awards ceremony continues to disrespect horror. Tony deserved to have his name up there with all the others. Some people will say “who cares about the Oscars?”, but I would say the recognition was well earned over a great career,” the caption of a Reddit thread on Sunday grabbed everyone’s attention.
