Meghan Markle’s latest Netflix show titled With Love, Meghan has been garnering headlines for all the wrong reasons. While the audiences have criticised the show, which reflected on poor ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, critics and Markle’s estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr. have slammed her for portraying herself as having a modest upbringing.
In the Netflix show, which premiered on February 4th, Meghan spoke about her childhood and her love for home hosting.
Calling herself a “latchkey kid," Meghan Markle claimed she “grew up with a lot of fast food and TV tray dinners." She also recalled meals from El Pollo Loco, Taco Bell, and Jack In The Box, emphasizing on an earlier claim from 2021 that she “grew up on the $4.99 salad bar at Sizzler."
Thomas Markle Jr. was not convinced with her claims in the cooking and lifestyle show and dismissed them as fabricated. “That’s just another one of the malarkey stories she sold to the royal family for sympathy," he told TalkTV. “We weren’t poor. She didn’t have to rub two nickels together at Sizzler’s salad bar," he added.
“The entire world knows how she treated her family, especially her father, who gave her everything. That’s why nobody’s buying it." He also admitted that while he initially tuned in to watch the series, he soon “realized there’s something better I could be doing with my time," shared Thomas.
