Netflix's 'The Ba***ds Of Bollywood' actor Rajat Bedi on quitting Bollywood: 'Was used, abused, kept away from Koi Mil Gaya's publicity and...'

Rajat Bedi is the actor people mostly recognize due to Jaani Dushman (2002) and Koi Mil Gaya (2003). After being away from the industry for more than a decade, he came back with Aryan Khan and Netflix’s ‘The Ba***ds Of Bollywood’ currently streaming on the platform. But why did he leave the industry?

At the Khajuraho International Film Festival (KIFF), the actor revealed, “I have been used and abused and left behind specially in my work. I have faced the consequences of trusting people. It happened in Canada.”

He added, “I was a real estate developer and an actor. I had partners who did the numbers on me. I faced bad consequences but it was great also for me because it made me move back to India.”

Being left out during Koi Mil Gaya

Rajat Bedi revealed, “Koi Mil Gaya became this blockbuster film, and it was publicised with Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Rakesh Roshan. I was left out in the publicity, but till today, people recognise me, love me for that role. I can’t take that away. It was wonderful to work with Rakesh ji.”

While having a conversation with Mukesh Khanna, the actor revealed many of his scenes in the film were edited, which left him ‘feeling terrible’. “I moved to Canada at a point where I was feeling frustrated with my work in the film industry. Films worked and there was no bigger hit than Koi Mil Gaya but it did not benefit me.”

Because even though I had done a lot of work in that film, my track with Preity Zinta, and Hrithik’s track with her…but when the final edit appeared my track was cut. My biggest disappointment was that when the film was released, they completely cut out from the publicity and promotions of the film."
