Radhika Apte has been a part of the Hindi film industry for the last 15 years. She has been a part of films like Rakht Charitra, Shor In The City, Padman, and Baazaar. The actress also starred in Netflix’s 2018 web-series Sacred Games, and now has Tisca Chopra’s Saali Mohabbat coming up.
As per a report by The Hollywood Reporter India, Radhika Apte expressed her displeasure and discomfort owing to the increasing violence on the screen. Apte was quoted saying, “I feel quite disturbed, and I have to say this openly… I am deeply disturbed by the violence at the moment that is selling as entertainment. I don’t want to be bringing up a child in a world where that is entertainment. I just cannot deal with it.”
She added, “If I want to tell a story of a man who chopped off people, I don’t need to see the chopping and horrible things that they are doing to the person. That is not storytelling. That is not what I have ever seen. The effect of this on society is so large, and I find it deeply upsetting that that is what’s selling.”

View All“An Indian producer I was working with wasn’t happy about the news,” she shared candidly. “He responded coldly and even insisted I wear tight-fitting clothes despite my discomfort and bloating. I was in my first trimester and had constant cravings, I was eating a lot, be it rice or pasta and going through the usual physical changes, but instead of understanding, I was met with insensitivity.”
