Popular Kollywood actress Nayanthara, who made her sizzling Bollywood debut last year in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan and is fondly called Lady Superstar by her fans, has slammed Dhanush for sending her a legal notice and demanding Rs 10 crore.
Taking to Instagram, the Darbar actress mentioned that during the making of her upcoming documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale , which is set to premiere on Netflix on 18th November, the 39-year-old actress had asked for permission from Dhanush to use visuals from their 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan but he refused to give permission & sent her a legal notice for using behind-the-scenes visuals from the sets of the movie. For the unversed, Dhanush was the producer of the Vijay Sethupathi starrer, which was directed by Nayanthara’s husband Vignesh Shivan.
“After two long years of battling it out with you for an NOC and waiting for your approval for our Netflix documentary release, we finally decided to give up, re-edit and settle for the current version since you declined to permit the usage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan songs or visual cuts, even the photographs to say the least despite multiple requests," she wrote
Slamming Dhanush, she further wrote, “This is an all-time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans but clearly you do not practice what you preach, at least not for me and my partner."
Taking a stand, Nayanthara shared that she will give a befitting reply to the notice and wrote, “I am in receipt of your legal notice and we shall respond to it befittingly through lawful means. Your refusal to give NOC for the use of elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for our Netflix documentary might be justified by you to the courts from the copyright angle but I wish to remind you that there is a moral side to it, which has to be defended in the court of God."
