Netflix's Mandala Murders star Vaani Kapoor shares 'last couple of became hectic and heavy on social media': 'Hope one can calm down on hate, create room for...'

Vaani Kapoor spoke about how social media has become a place for negativity and urged people to check how much hate they are putting in the world.

Vaani, who was present at the trailer launch of her upcoming Netflix web series Mandala Murders, said this after the controversy over Abir Gulal, which featured Pakistani actor Fawad Khan opposite her. The film was supposed to release on May 9, but faced a ban in India in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack in April.

“Last couple of months, years, everything became hectic and heavy on social media. So, I hope one can calm down on hate, create room for love and kindness, I know it doesn’t sound very interesting. But what you give will come back to you. If you hate or troll somebody, it will someday get back at you, and it’s going to sting you worse,” said Vaani.

“So, just be nice, kind, and try to be just as humans. I’m wishing we could be in a happier space, and be kinder to each other and ourselves,” she added.

While she didn’t talk about the movie controversy directly, she spoke in respect to a question from the media on a vardaan (blessing) she’d like to choose for herself.

Talking about the show, Vaani shared, “There was a lot of room and space for discovery, which was very exciting. When Gopi sir and Manan sir narrated the script to me, they asked me to collaborate. They wanted me to contribute to the story and bring something authentic to the table.”

Also starring Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, Shriya Pilgaokar, and Raghubir Yadav among others, Netflix’s Mandala Murders is directed by Gopi Puthran and Manan Rawat.
