Huma Qureshi has been a part of the Hindi film industry for the last 13 years. She rose to fame right after her smashing debut with Anurag Kashyap’s 2012 drama Gangs of Wasseypur. She has been receiving a lot of rave reviews for her performance in Netflix’s Delhi Crime 3 as well that’s now streaming on the OTT platform.
In an interview with Mid-day, the actress spoke about Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 and how her role was edited. Huma was quoted saying, “Our first collaboration was on Jolly LLB 2. It was not a very big part, but during the edit, my role became even smaller. I remember being really upset about it and saying, ‘I’m not doing anything in this film.”
“There was a very strong scene that was there in the trailer but never made it to the film, in which I scream at Akshay sir’s character and show him the right path. That never made it to the final film, Huma Qureshi added.
In its review of Delhi Crime 3, Firstpost wrote- “Badi Didi, performed by Huma Qureshi, is one character in the show whom you can’t just stop hating. She is scary, ruthless and inhuman. The two things she understands in life are money and guns, and she doesn’t think twice when it’s time to pull the trigger. She rules like a boss and knows how to control the men in her kingdom too. Not just Shefali Shah, in fact this time it is Huma Qureshi who steals the show.”
The best thing about Delhi Crime is that every season deals with a different story, and you don’t really need to watch the previous two seasons to understand the third one. Delhi Crime continues its journey with honesty and bravery in pursuit of justice.”
