Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s stellar acting prowess and powerful screen presence have led him to become one of the most-talented stars in the Indian entertainment industry. The actor who has earned a sizable fan following on the basis of his impeccable talent is also popular for his unconventional looks. But, there was a time when he felt that he was not good-looking enough. Recently, in an interview, the actor opened up about the importance of feeling confident in one’s skin and also revealed when he used to feel insecure due to his dark complexion. In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Nawazuddin opened up about his insecurity because of his dark complexion and said, “I was insecure in my early days because of the colour of my skin. I used to apply a lot of creams but nothing changed. Later, I realised it is what it is.” The _Haddi_ actor also recalled when he was labelled as an ‘unconventional’ hero because of his looks at the beginning of his career. Nawaz, at first, believed that he was a not-so-good-looking person but after he got out of that atmosphere, his perception changed. He said, “I believed for a long time that I am not a good-looking guy. But when I went out, I realised that I am okay, my face is fine.” He went on to add, “It is very important to be confident about the way you look. The insecurity that comes in usually comes in from other people.” Nawaz, during his conversation, also highlighted the perception of people around looks and noted that it took him 10-12 years to prove that he is an actor but the distinction will always remain the same. He also revealed the reason behind the same and said that people have a certain perception and image in their mind and it is never going to change. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s last outing, Haddi, in which he essayed the role of a transwoman failed to garner a positive response from the cinephiles.
