Navya Naveli Nanda gets candid on her Bachchan-Nanda legacy: 'People keep talking about my last name'

Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda recently debuted at the Paris Fashion Week. As the 25-year-old entrepreneur made her dazzling presence at the international fashion stage for L’Oreal, her mother Shweta Bachchan shared the video from the event on her social media handle. Now, in an interview with IndiaToday.in, Navya Naveli Nanda opened up about her family’s legacy and the criticism she faces for coming from a privileged background. “People keep talking about my last name and legacy, and I love reminding people that everyone has a last name. It is not just my responsibility to live up to mine but everyone has a last name that means something that demands value and respect,” Navya said. While sharing her ramp-walk video on Instagram, doting mum Shweta wrote, “Little miss L’Oréal.” Navya, who is also a podcast host, collaborated with Tinkle Khanna for ‘Project Naveli’. The initiative looks after crucial aspects like education for women. While speaking during the interview, Navya added that her parents were always supportive of her decision to take up entrepreneurship. Recently, in a conversation with We Are Yuvaa, BigB’s granddaughter even spoke about acknowledging her privilege. Highlighting that life has bestowed her with a lot, Navya said, “Life has given me so much). You know a part of me was like I don’t know if I deserve to be sitting here, I don’t know if I’ve done enough or achieved enough to be here sitting with all of these people who’ve been working for far longer than I have.” She went on to add, “But then I said that you know that you have been given this opportunity somebody else was not and you need to go and make the most of it. You’re lucky to have it and I keep reminding myself that.” About Paris Fashion Week Navya Naveli Nanda graced the Paris Fashion Week along with her aunt and Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She walked the ramp during the L’Oreal show that was set against the backdrop of the ever-iconic Eiffel Tower. The pretty lady donned a bright red dress, radiating elegance. Her ensemble had an off-shoulder neckline with a cascade of ruffles. Navya shared the prestigious stage with popular personalities and L’Oreal ambassadors like Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning and Kendall Jenner.
