Nargis Fakhri's sister Aliya arrested in US for killing her ex-boyfriend by setting his home on fire: Decoding the murder

In a shocking turn of events, actress Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya Fakhri has been arrested in the USA in connection with the death of his ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs, and his friend, Anastasia Star Ettienne, in a fire in Queens, New York.

As per authorities, Aliya set fire to a two-storey garage, which caused the victims to die from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.

Aliya’s bail has been denied and she is charged with their murders.

Describing this incident as a malicious act, District Attorney Melinda Katz said, This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno."

“The victims tragically died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries," she added as per a report from Daily News.

While Nargis Fakhri , who is known for films like Rockstar, Madras Cafe, Banjo, Housefull 3, and others, has yet to comment on the matter, her mother has defended Aliya and said, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody," as multiple publications have reported.

One of the witnesses at the crime scene revealed that Aliya and Edward had “an abusive relationship", which led to the fatal fire.

“…We had to jump over it to escape. Star jumped over with me, but then she went back in to save [Jacobs]. It was an abusive relationship. She had told everyone before that she was going to burn his house down, that she was going to kill him. We just laughed it off," as multiple publications have reported this quote from the witness.

Talking about Nargis Fakhri, she is busy with Housefull 5, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar and Sonam Bajwa among others.
