The same report states that Eric Newman will as showrunner and executive producer. José Padilha, Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard and Andrés Baiz are also executive producers. The first season of Narcos: Mexico chronicles the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel with Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna) taking charge and uniting other Mexican drug lords to form a centralised cartel. Felix, along with his main partners Rafael Caro Quintero and Ernesto Fonseca Carrilloto, aspire to smuggle marijuana, and then later cocaine into the United States. However, their network is disrupted with the transfer of DEA agent Enrique ‘Kiki’ Camarena (played by Michael Pena) to Guadalajara, who comes to their town with his young son and a pregnant wife. He discovers their masterfully guarded drug organisation and realises that his job is going to be tougher than he thought. The streaming giant confirmed the news with a video. Watch it here:
