Mohanlal's upcoming Velipadinte Pusthakam to release during Onam; Odiyan, Villain in pipeline
Mohanlal's next throws light upon the relationship between Idikkula (often called as 'Dracula' for his unconventional pedagogical techniques) and students.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal brought a bundle of joy to all his numerous fans who were waiting for the actor's upcoming films. He revealed on Twitter that his next release, Velipadinte Pusthakam will hit cine-screens this year during Onam.

Just about a month ago, on 27 June, he had revealed the first look of the film on Twitter:
It was earlier reported that Mohanlal's character is called Michael Idikkula; Idikkula is the newly appointed vice principal of the most popular college in town. He follows unorthodox teaching methods, and the film chronicles how he brings about changes in the college. The film throws light upon the relationship between Idikkula (often called as 'Dracula' for his unconventional pedagogical techniques) and students.
The film also stars Anna Reshma Rajan who plays the female lead, along with Anoop Menon, Salim Kumar, Priyanka Nair. Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Alencier Ley Lopez, Arun Kurien and Sarath Kumar will be seen in supporting roles, as reported by thenewsminute.com. The report further suggests that most of the film's shooting happened at the St Xavier's College, Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram.
Mohanlal is reported to be seen in three different looks in the film, which is being directed by Lal Jose.
The actor also have another films in pipeline — Odiyan and Villain.
Director VA Shreekumar Menon's Odiyan is touted to be the most expensive Malayalam film ever. The film revolves around a village named Palakkad, set in a time span of 50 years, from 1950-2000. The story is about the mysterious clan of Odiyans who are part of the common folklores. They are supposed to be half man-half beasts, and Mohanlal plays a character who is one of these mystical beasts. He has supposedly shed 15 kilograms for this role, reports manoramaonline.c
Mohanlal also updated about the developments on his film, Villain along with producer Rockline Venkatesh and filmmaker Unnikrishnan B. Mohanlal essays the role of an ex-cop named Mathew Manjooran. The film stars Tamil actor Vishal as an antagonist while actress Manju Warrier plays a significant character.
