Mimoh Chakraborty, son of veteran star Mithun Chakraborty, made his Bollywood debut with the 2008 dud Jimmy and was then seen in his only hit Haunted 3D in 2011. It all went downhill for the actor, and in an interview with Lehren Retro, his brother Namashi had something to say about his Mimoh’s failed Bollywood career.
“Unfortunately, people look at Jimmy as a bigger flop than perhaps a big production film,” he said and added, “If he got as many chances as Abhishek bhaiya, he would rock it," Namashi said.
The actor added, “He was born to a superstar. He has the potential to be a superstar but the industry is too busy favouring other star kids. If my brother, I can say this on the record, got as many chances as Abhishek (Bachchan) sir, my brother would be a superstar today. I can say this with confidence.”
Mimoh on meeting Abhishek Bachchan
In an earlier interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mimoh said, “I met Amit uncle and Abhishek was there. Abhishek gave me one advice, and at that time, Abhishek was very hot in the industry. He told me that ‘Mimoh, no matter how much they put you down, you get back up again and show them what you are.’ I still remember this. I am wishing well for them, but I get jealous also, I mean, I am a human being and I wish I was there. But I understood after a lot of years that nothing works when destiny plays its hand.
