Mithun Chakraborty & Yogeeta Bali's son Mahaakshay claims Bollywood 'insulted' his parents: 'The meanest things were like they...'

Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty, who garnered fame with Haunted 3D and impressed with his performance in the latest web show Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, recently opened up about facing criticism in the industry and how the fraternity insulted his parents.

“The meanest things were like they were making fun of my mom. I would understand for my dad, yes, carrying his legacy. Mere zariye, they were insulting dad, because you cannot pinpoint and say ki Mithun Chakraborty isme kharab tha. It’s because his legacy is so strong, toh unko laga chalo Mimoh ke through humlog Mithun Chakraborty ko bhi gaali de denge," Mimoh told Bollywood Bubble.

“So they weren’t writing my name, they said Mithun Chakraborty’s son, Mithun da ka beta, so they wanted to feel good, whoever they were. But then it became too much, and it was going to my mother. And there were actors in the industry who did that," he added.

The actor recalled how top actors used to do the same and shared, “Forget normal people, audience, it was people from the industry jo khule aam jaake mom ka mazaak uda rahe the. And it became a little too much for me. Ki yaar mere tak thik hai, dad tak thik hai, but mom pe mat jaao, (it is fine with me, it is fine with dad, but don’t go on mother.) You know. But then I know we all go through this."

Talking about the pressure of carrying his father’s legacy in the industry, Mahaakshay shared, “Pehele lagta tha, abhi nahi lagta hai. (I used to feel that before, but not now). Abhi, I am just playing the characters, which I believe in. Because kya hoga, if I go on set thinking that every shot has to be better than my father, woh kabhi nahi ho payega; because he is him. Mithun Chakraborty will always be one Mithun Chakraborty. I can’t imitate him. Even if I do, I won’t be able to reach his stature, and I just want to be Mimoh."

“Now, when you see Khakee, I was in it, I cannot compete with my father, and I don’t want to compete with him. I just want to be Mimoh," the actor added.
