T-Series launched the teaser for Anurag Basu’s upcoming film Metro… In Dino at Bal Gandharva Rangmandir in Bandra, Mumbai. The event brought together the film’s cast and crew ahead of its theatrical release on 4th July 2025.
The event featured the cast and crew of the sequel to Life In A… Metro, who presented the teaser and shared insights into the film’s themes of contemporary relationships, music, and storytelling.
A Packed House and Warm Vibes
In the cultural centre of Bandra, Bal Gandharva Rangmandir has turned into the favourite venue of earthy but glamorous film previews. Over the years, it has hosted early screenings and teaser launches of films like Dunki, Gold, and the Marathi title Ilu Ilu. On this particular evening, the auditorium was packed not just with cameras and reporters, but with anticipation and applause.
A Unique Teaser Launch That Broke the Norm
The teaser of the film wasn’t launched in the same way. In a refreshing twist, the screening was presented alongside live on-stage appearances by each of the film’s eight lead actors, who walked in one by one, as their scenes played out on the screen behind them.
Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, and Konkona Sen Sharma were present at the event. This mix of visuals and live interaction brought the teaser to life in a way that felt both theatrical and personal.
After this creative format, the actual teaser was played in full. It set the tone for what the film promises: stories of love and loneliness, quiet companionships, and the emotional clutter of city life.
Honest Conversations, Not Just Press Briefings
Once the teaser was out, the entire cast took their seats on stage, joined by director Anurag Basu and producer Bhushan Kumar. But instead of jumping into the usual Q&A, there was another gentle surprise.
This time, it was the celebrities who asked questions to the media.“What does love mean to you?” “Have you ever lost touch with someone and wished you hadn’t?” The questions led to some smiles, some laughs, and even a few thoughtful silences from the journalists in the room.
Eventually, the roles reversed, and the media got their turn. The cast answered every question without filters or rehearsed lines. There was a strong sense that the people on stage weren’t just selling a film. They were sharing something they believed in.
A Quietly Powerful Setting: About the Venue
For those unfamiliar, Bal Gandharva Rangmandir is not just another hall. Located in Bandra West, it’s where some of the more meaningful film moments quietly unfold away from the chaos of bigger venues. It’s respected for its cultural atmosphere and intimacy, which makes it a favourite for content-rich films and close-knit media interactions.
Over the years, many well-known filmmakers have chosen this space to launch films that are high on substance and soul — and Metro… In Dino fits right in.
The Film’s Premise
The film is directed by Anurag Basu, Metro… In Dino explores the lives of four couples navigating love in a city. From unspoken regrets to rediscovered connections, the film touches on themes that feel both timely and timeless.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu, and with music by Pritam, the film brings together a cast that’s as diverse in talent as the stories they represent.
While Life In A… Metro released in 2007, reflected relationships of that time, Metro… In Dino brings a newer lens, exploring love as it stands today — complicated, confusing, yet always worth the risk.
In Cinemas This July
At the launch event, the cast and director shared their perspectives on the film, describing it as a reflection on modern relationships in an urban setting.
Speaking at the event, director Anurag Basu said, “Metro… In Dino is not a continuation in plot, but in emotion. It explores new characters and how they navigate love and loneliness in today’s fast-paced world.”
Actor Aditya Roy Kapur added, “It’s a layered film. Every character is searching for something connection, meaning, peace.”
While the teaser received applause at the venue, early reactions online were mixed, with some praising the music and ensemble cast, and others expressing curiosity about how the film connects to Life in a… Metro.
