Met Gala 2024: Alia Bhatt set to dazzle at the event this year, likely to wear a Gucci inspire saree

Alia Bhatt is certainly making a lot of noise internationally too. She’s all set to grace MET GALA 2024 and this shall mark her second appearance. The actress was clicked at the airport two days back as she departed to New York to participate in the grand event. The event takes place on the first Sunday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

What she will wear

The theme for this year’s gala is ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, and abiding by that, she’ll likely flaunt a Gucci-inspired saree that creates a beautiful blend of Indian and western.

While speaking to Ellie US magazine, the actress said, “To me, a chiffon sari is even more comfortable than jeans and a T-shirt. Whoever invented the sari was a genius; it’s meant for our weather in India because it’s airy and light, and you feel like you’re enveloped by a cloud. Your mood can go from zero to hero the minute you put one on."

The actress made a smashing appearance at the Gala in a smoldering white gown. She wrote on Twitter- ‘I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture.’

Sharing multiple pictures of herself, she added on social media- ‘My look tonight was inspired from this and in particular by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look. A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair.’
