The much awaited Diwali release Mersal’s teaser is out and Vijay packs a punch in this small glimpse of his upcoming drama. The teaser kick starts with an intriguing narration and introduces us to Vijay’s triple roles, and the actor is seen battling in three different worlds. From the looks of it, the actor is a magician, jallikattu champ and a leader of sorts. What is evident in this Atlee film’s teaser, is that Thalapathy’s latest is sure to be a fan-pleaser. YouTube screengrab[/caption] The larger-than-life setup has Vijay enthralling people with his tricks and moves. The under-two minute teaser also gives us a sneak peek into some high-octane action sequences featuring the star. However, there is no sign of the three actresses: Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon. Mersal settings include rural South India and exotic foreign locations. As reported earlier, Vijay plays a magician, panchayat head and doctor in the film. The actor takes on a triple role for the first time in Mersal and the film directed by Atlee is all set for a grand Diwali release. This is also the second time AR Rahman and Vijay come together after a gap of 10 years and incidentally the two complete 25 years in cinema as well. The last time their combination hit the charts was with Azhagiya Tamizh Magan. The Mersal audio, which released last month, has been topping the charts, with most fans humming ‘Azhapooran Tamizhan’ and making it the new trademark Vijay song. Mersal, written by KV Vijayendra Prasad and produced by Sri Thenandal Films, is said to be Vijay’s costliest film till date.
