The ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict has sent shockwaves throughout the world. People from all walks of life have come forward to express their deep sorrow and unequivocal condemnation of the attacks. Recently, pop icon Madonna halted her performance during the Celebration tour at London’s O2 Arena to address the issue. Madonna revealed that she was “heartbroken” with the current situation. She also expressed deep concern for the innocent lives being affected in the area.
Madonna was visibly moved, with tears in her eyes, as she shared her opinion on the Israel-Palestine conflict . “What’s happening right now between Israel and Palestine is heartbreaking. I turn on social media and I want to vomit. I see children being kidnapped, pulled off motorcycles; babies being decapitated, children at peace raves being shot and killed. How can human beings be so cruel to one another? It frightens me,” she said.
Madonna also stressed the fact that regardless of their background and beliefs, children of the world belong to everyone, and everyone is responsible for them. The singer talked about a six-year-old boy named Wadea Al-Fayoume who was killed. Madonna called the incident a hate crime and urged everyone to retain their humanity in the midst of all the darkness.
Madonna encouraged everyone to take action saying that they are all candles who are capable of bringing light to the world, “If we turn enough light on, the collective consciousness of generosity and unity will change. No politicians, no laws, no sanctions, no land given or taken. We, with our consciousness, can change the world,” she said.
Sharing a video of her speech on her official X (formerly known as Twitter), Maddona captioned her post, “The Children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the Globe;’ …………… #jamesbaldwin…Let’s bring more light to the world #MadonnaCelebrationTour”
